＜Speed in Rugby＞
Speed specific training is very important for rugby players, from Club level to Internationals.
The demands on individual positions within the rugby team and game situation are very diverse, and so it is critical to design training techniques that meet the needs of each.
Tight forwards and inside backs must be powerful and predominantly run with short bursts. Loose forwards and outside backs are required to perform longer faster runs whether as support runners or ball carriers.
Overall Sprinting Technique is important no matter which position in order to maximise the players potential on field. Time should be taken to correct fundamental errors, and retrain correct form.
